Why this piece?
I chose to revise this because the original was missing details. Although, arguably, this one is as well, but I tried to flesh out the important ones as much as I could. Most of this time has become a blur in my memory; but the feeling of loss is still here. Note that this story is based on the truth and not exact. But I wrote what I perceived to be the current truth. The companion song really influenced me with this story. Since the debacle, every time I heard the song, I could not help but think of the person who the story is about (let’s call them Bob). Lead singer of Radiohead Thom Yorke, who wrote the song, said “this is about being in love with someone, but not feeling good enough. … There’s beautiful people and then there’s the rest of us”. This quote resonated with me because it accurately describes what the narrator was most likely feeling toward Bob at that time.
I hope I made the story clearer in the revision. The narrator is taking the blame for this situation that has happened. They believe it is because they got jealous of Bob and they are still reminiscing over the pasts events.
